The lone UK representative on Flying Lotus’ imprint returns with his first new music since last year’s Nostalchic.

Nationality aside, Stuart “Lapalux” Howard is a perfect fit on the Brainfeeder roster, authoring the type of dusty, sampled-driven beatcraft for which the label is known. His latest, ‘Movement I, II & III’, is a three-part, seven-minute journey that alternates between wonky and wistful.

“This is a piece that moves in three stages: Morning, day, and night,” he writes. “It’s centered around the idea of being in the desert, lost as fuck trying to find something or someone. Or at least thats how I see it. Like Harry Dean Stanton in the film Paris, Texas when he’s mysteriously wandering the desert and remembers nothing.”
