Murat Tepeli will inaugurate the new label next month.

Sophisticated house producers Prosumer and Murat Tepeli have enjoyed a musical partnership that dates back almost a decade, to the release of their On A Ride 12-inch on Playhouse in 2005. It is almost rare to see the latter’s name without Prosumer’s somewhere close by. The pair occasionally DJ together and have enjoyed a string of collaborative releases on Ostgut Ton including the Serenity LP in 2008.

Tepeli, whose musical output has been somewhat stifled by his day job as a surgeon, has teamed again with Prosumer to create a label that will house both their own creations and the work of others. “Both parents’ musical DNA is observable in their lovechild and they have set out to raise the kid to their best abilities” said the press release.

The new imprint will be called Potions and Murat Tepeli’s Drop It Like It’s Hot EP will be the first release. Drop It Like Its Hot will be released on 3 November, illustrating Tepeli’s “love for bass and what he considers fun on the dance floor.” The label’s second release will be a 12-inch from Copenhagen’s Wilma.
