The British Council connects UK and South African artists.

Four Tet and Mercury Prize winners Young Fathers have joined forces with Connect ZA, the latest in a series of the council’s music projects that includes last year’s Cairo Calling program.

As part of Connect ZA, Four Tet will headline Cape Town Electronic Music Festival, taking part in workshops and performing at the festival’s City Hall venue on February 8; he’ll be joined by fellow UK artist Luke Nyeke aka El. Train.

For their part, Young Fathers will take part in live events, workshops and collaborative sessions with South African artists. In their first trip to Africa, they’ll be playing in Johannesburg on February 25 and in Cape Town on February 28. The events are collaborations between monthly event Weheartbeat and Cape Town venue The Assembly.
