The Brownsville veteran readies the follow-up to The Night’s Gambit.

Ka has been making music for the better part of two decades, but the rapper-producer had a renaissance during the past few years; his The Night’s Gambit was one of the best albums of 2013.

The Brownsville talent has been relatively quiet since The Night’s Gambit, but it looks like he’s ready to break the silence: there’s now a brief teaser for his next project, Days With Dr. Yen Lo. Steady Bloggin suggests that the project is a full-length collaboration with Preservation, who produced Ka’s 1200 BC EP.

Watch the Manchurian Candidate-sampling teaser below. In 2013, FACT’s Maya Kalev got Ka to open up about the devastating The Night’s Gambit.

Update: Ka tweets that the album is due out on May 16: “As with everything we do we pray you respect it as art and treasure it.”
