The Dublin duo demonstrate what three months with Levon can do for your sound.

Terriers – the Dublin duo who fought off stiff competition to win a three-month apprenticeship under Levon Vincent – will inaugurate the new Berlin label Rhythm Nation with a three-track 12″ next month.

Ranging from “heavy but melodic tracks” to “deep, stringy, Detroit-rooted techno,” Octagon is their second record since spending last summer working in Levon Vincent’s studio in Berlin, the first being last year’s House No 9 EP released on Major Problems.

Terriers were revealed to be Levon’s apprentices last September, and were picked from a flood of demos that made their way to the producer after he announced he was to give one lucky act three months of his tuition at the end of 2013. The pair were given the chance to live rent-free in Berlin for the duration, and were told by Vincent to think of the experience as a “bootcamp”.

Octagon is released on June 19. Until then, you can hear a preview of 12″ track ‘Believing The Crystal’ taken from Pete Tong’s Radio 1 show below.
