A translated interview with a Dutch music site reveals more details about Radiohead’s feverishly anticipated follow up to The King Of Limbs.
Today, Radiohead fans on Reddit discovered an interview published last month with Jonny Greenwood on the Dutch music site 3voor12. After translating it, it reveals a few details about the band’s highly anticipated new album.
According to Greenwood the process has been slow and that restarting has taken some time. “We’re working in periods now,” he said, “this afternoon, Thom and I will work on a song we started yesterday, see what it will lead to.”
He also revealed that the band is currently reworking the song ‘Lift’ which dates back to the mid-90s. It’s a similar process to ‘Nude’ which finally found a home on In Rainbows over a decade after it appeared in live shows (in an almost completely different form).
“What people don’t know is that there’s a very old song on each album … We never found the right arrangement for [‘Nude’], until then. ‘Lift’ is just like that. When the idea is right, it stays right. It doesn’t really matter in which form.” [via CoS]
