Daniel Lopatin’s Software label recently released one of its weirdest records to date, The Baltika Years.

Brooklyn artist Ben Zimmerman produced his strangely prescient computer music gems on a 1980s Tandy DeskMate computer in painstakingly slow process; even booting up the operating system took 10 minutes and three floppy disks, as he explained in an interview with FACT.

In this short documentary by Ramez Silyan, we head to Zimmerman’s home in Brooklyn to find out more about The Baltika Years and his low-tech approach to music-making.
