Nicolas Jaar has announced plans to release more material from no wave icon Lydia Lunch.

Jaar’s Other People imprint will release a collection of early live recordings from her seminal no wave outfit Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, entitled Live 1977-1979. Earlier this year, Other People reissued Lunch’s spoken word LP Conspiracy Of Women.

Live 1977-1979 collects recordings from performances at Max’s Kansas City and CBGB’s in New York, plus the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. According to the press release, the album features “almost every known Teenage Jesus and the Jerks composition”.

Teenage Jesus and the Jerks was comprised of Lunch, Bradly Field, Jim Sclavunos, Gordon Stevenson, Reck, and James Chance. For a detailed history on the band, read Weasel Walter’s press release. For an introduction to no wave, check our beginner’s guide.
