Amsterdam-based DJ Joris Voorn is helming the 83rd edition of Fabric’s mix series, and it features an astonishing 65 tracks.

“The creative freedom I have when working in Ableton allows me to edit, mix and remix tracks in ways you can’t do with turntables or CD players,” Voorn explains of the process behind the mix in a press release.

“Tracks are often used as building blocks in the form of loops and samples in order to create something completely new. Tracks are usually stripped down or minimal sounding to allow for layering and mixing with other tracks. The result is a mix that is more than the sum of its parts,” he continues.

Voorn has been a key part of the Dutch club scene for over a decade, growing up on a diet of Detroit techno that saw him win the early approval of Carl Craig and Laurent Garnier. Voorn’s Fabric 83 tracklist is a blend of old and new including tracks from Deepchord, Robert Hood, Cobblestone Jazz, Speedy J, John Tejada and even TCF.

Fabric 83 is released on CD on August 21. A launch party takes place at Fabric on August 22 – details and tickets can be found here.
