Shangaan electro kingpin Nozinja is on a mission to spread the hyper-fast South African dance strain to the world.

After teaming up with Tessela for an inspired 12″ on Warp earlier this year, Richard Mthetwa moved onto an even more ambitious collaboration last month as part of Doug Aitken’s Station To Station, the chaotic month-long art happening at London’s Barbican.

Nozinja was joined in the VF Studio by ‘Take Time’ producer Mumdance, underground polymath Micachu and skewed-pop singer Tirzah, and together they wrote and recorded two tracks combining their considerable talents.

The results were then pressed up on-site with The Vinyl Factory Press in a limited edition of 300. The hand-made, mixed media artwork was also a collaboration, provided by Åbäke, Emma Berit Smit, Vincent Humeau, Alex Lunn, Jonas Meier, Mae Ruecki Noel, Luna Suzuki Ståhl and Kia Tasbihgou. The 12″ is out on August 24 and available to pre-order now from VF Editions.
