Artist’s sinister amusement park will host a Friday night gig series.
Banksy opened his Dismaland attraction at a derelict seafront lido in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset this morning. The theme park, which also features work by Damien Hirst and The KLF’s Jimmy Cauty, will be open for five weeks offering fun and games for all the family on the Grim Reaper Dodgem, Water Cannon Creek, Pocket Money Loans and the Jeffrey Archer Memorial Fire Pit, among other attractions.
Every Friday night visitors can enjoy a live show with some less depressing entertainment, kicking off on August 28 with DJ Yoda, Peanut Butter Wolf and Breakbeat Lou. Run The Jewels, Sleaford Mods, Savages, Kate Tempest, Pussy Riot and Massive Attack are also slated to play.
Dismaland is open everyday from August 22 – September 27, 11am – 11pm. Admission £3, free for the under-fives.
