The post-punk band enlist five artists to create a visual version of their new release.
Copenhagen’s Lower just released their new EP, I’m A Lazy Son…But I’m The Only Son, this week and rather than rolling out a couple music videos over time they’ve opted for something far more ambitious. The group have given a song each to a quintet of international artists and given then free reign to create anything they like. The result is a visual version of the EP, with the exciting unpredictability that only comes with such an impressive roster.
Given full creative control, the directors move drastically in style and content. For example, after jumping off with Dean Blunt‘s murky black and white opening clip, Jonathan Horowitz reedits the videos for Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ and Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘Alright’ and later Magnus Andersen and Cecilia Gerson incorporate footage from a college graduation ceremony. Watch them all above and find the track list with directors below.
1. ‘At The Endless Party’ (dir. Dean Blunt)
2. ‘Keep Me In Mind’ (dir. Jonathan Horowitz)
3. ‘The Rack’ (dir. Lasse Latz)
4. ‘Hot & Bothered’ (dir. Magnus Andersen and Cecilia Gerson)
5. ‘Nasty Business’ (dir. Rirkrit Tiravanija)
