The 2014 grime belter gets a Nippon makeover.

A Japanese girl band has recorded a cover of Mumdance and Novelist’s ‘Take Time’, and unsurprisingly it’s kind of brilliant. Yomeiriland’s helium-voiced version appeared on SoundCloud yesterday with artwork mimicking Mumdance’s multi-eyed press shot.

The four-piece outfit previously released a couple of records on Bandcamp showing off their synthpunk-meets-Mad Decent style (including an EP containing a loopy version of Usher’s ‘Oh Yeah’), but there’s not much more information on the band for non-Japanese speakers. They do have a Vine account, though.

Stream the track below, and find out what happened when we got Mumdance and Novelist reviewing the week’s singles.
