One of the year’s biggest hits has been excluded from the Grammys due to a “clerical error”.

Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ spent weeks in the upper reaches of the charts, spawned countless memes and sold hundreds of Moncler red jackets, but when the Grammy Awards nominations were revealed earlier this week many were surprised to see it had been snubbed by the judges.

Why? Well, industry website Hits Daily Double now reports that the track wasn’t submitted for consideration – due to a “clerical error” on the part of Drake’s label, Cash Money. “That huge hit might well have been a multiple-category contender but for this goof,” the website points out.

Still, it’s not all bad news for Drizzy, as he could still pick up a Grammy for ‘Back To Back’ – the first diss track ever nominated in the Best Rap Performance category.
