Grimes has gone full cybergoth for the ‘Kill V. Maim’ video.

The Art Angels highlight has been given a cartoonish visual inspired by Claire Boucher’s love of fantasy and science fiction, with a smattering of movie references thrown in too, from her Black Swan-esque feathered wings to the Blade-style blood rave that kicks off towards the end and street scenes surely inspired by Akira.

The video was directed by Boucher and her brother Mac and shot in Toronto. Check out her similarly OTT video for Art Angels tracks ‘Flesh Without Blood/Life In The Vivid Dream’.

Remember when a bunch of New York vampires had an IRL blood rave last year?
