The app replaces the BBC Playlister service.

The BBC has launched BBC Music, an iOS and Android app that acts as a hub for the broadcaster’s music content across TV, radio and online channels.

As well as collecting the sort of audio and video material found on the iPlayer, BBC Music is home to exclusive content and works as a music recommendation service based on your personal preferences.

It also allows you to find any track played on BBC Radio in the past seven days and allows you to add any track to your personal playlists on Spotify, YouTube and Deezer to listen in full.

BBC Music replaces the BBC Playlister app, which was launched in 2013.

The BBC says it will continue to expand BBC Music with new features based on user feedback. It should be rolling out to the App Store and Google Play store today, but is as yet unavailable.

The new app joins a crowded marketplace for music discovery: earlier this month SoundCloud updated its app with a feature called Stations for recommending tracks.
