TIDAL rep says the lawsuit reported last year never happened.

Last year, reports circulated that Birdman’s Cash Money Records was suing TIDAL for $50 million over their exclusive stream of Lil Wayne’s album FWA. Now, TIDAL representatives have told Rolling Stone that the lawsuit never materialized.

“No Cash Money lawsuit was ever served and therefore it was dismissed before it was ever started,” they say.

At the time, TMZ reported that the lawsuit was due to Cash Money’s claim that Wayne’s contract prevented him from licensing his music to anyone else, thus making the TIDAL stream illegal.

Cash Money has yet to release a statement on the lawsuit. Earlier this year Birdman and Lil Wayne appeared to reconcile after their ongoing personal and legal feud.
