Kano offered up his own version of The Streets’ classic 2001 single ‘Has It Come To This?’ on BBC Radio 1’s Piano Sessions last night (March 29).
The re-working takes its cue from Mike Skinner’s original lyrics but also sees the grime MC weave his own lines into the song, serving up nuggets like “I’m from the classroom of free school dinners,” while barely-there piano keys simmer away in the background. Hear it below.
Kano’s latest album Made in the Manor, the follow-up to 2010’s Method To The Maadness, features guest spots from Damon Albarn, Rustie and Fraser T Smith, among others.
