Mercury Rev’s Jonathan Donahue provides dreamy vocals.

After bamboozling us with ‘Frankie Sinatra’, long-lost Aussie duo The Avalanches have released the second single from Wildflower.

‘Colours’ pulls a 180 on the oompah-hip-hop of that first single, drifting off on tangerine clouds of psychedelia that actually remind us why we loved them so much in the first place. The song also features vocals from Mercury Rev’s Jonathan Donahue.

Earlier this week a snippet of The Avalanches’ Toro Y Moi collaboration ‘If I Was A Folkstar’ surfaced online, but looks like you’ll have to wait until the album release to hear it.

Wildflower is out July 8 and features Biz Markie, Father John Misty, Ariel Pink and more.
