A teenage nostalgia trip for the London-based artist.

The Maghreban – aka metamorphic producer Ayman Rostom – drops new outsider house banger ‘Lose It’.

The handclap-studded track – which also flicks through breakbeat and classic rave – was built with samples from old Akai S1000 floppy disks that Rostom found gathering dust in a shoebox at his dad’s house.

“I’m harking back to when I was 14 and when I first fell in love with dance music,” explains Rostom, who last year was featured on our 10 house and techno producers to watch list.

Rostom, who has been making low-slung hip-hop under different aliases like Dr. Zygote for the past decade, turned his hand to house a few years back and began putting out singles on his own experimental Zoot label.

With the dub-flecked ‘Wrong Move’ on the B-Side, this new 12″ marks The Maghreban’s first release on Bristol label Black Acre. It’s out July 16 but available to pre-order now.
