Chance the Rapper paid tribute to the late Muhammad Ali last night (July 13) with a new, as-yet-unnamed song.
Closing the ESPY Awards (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards) in LA, Chance was accompanied by regular collaborators Donnie Trumpet, Jamila Woods, Peter Cottontale and Teddy Jackson for the piano-led song, which also featured a gospel choir.
As Genius points out, the track features an excerpt of an Ali interview from July 1977. He had travelled over here to raise money for boys’ boxing clubs in the country.

“It was an honor. Rest in peace Muhammad Ali. He is in a much better place,” tweeted the Chicago rapper early this morning. The legendary boxer, the greatest fighter in the history of the sport, died on June 3 at the age of 74.
