The show was part of the annual Nice Jazz Festival.

Massive Attack’s planned concert in Nice on July 19 has been cancelled following yesterday’s truck attack in the French city that left 84 people dead.

“In light of the tragic and senseless events in Nice our show on Tuesday is cancelled,” Massive Attack said on Twitter. “All our thoughts are with the victims.”

The band’s show formed part of the Nice Jazz Festival, which also featured George Clinton and Robert Plant, and was due to take place from July 16-20. Organisers earlier announced that the whole event is to be cancelled on the festival website.

A Rihanna concert due to take place in Nice tonight (July 15) was also cancelled because of the attack.

In a post on Instagram, the singer said: “Due to the tragic events in Nice, my concert scheduled for tomorrow July 15 at Allianz Stadium will not be going ahead as planned. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.”
