“I can drive but that’s about it.”

Shaun Ryder wants to step into Chris Evans’ ugly shoes and present the next series of BBC Two’s manbaby motoring programme, Top Gear.

Speaking to NME, the Happy Mondays’ frontman turned alien hunter said he would “absolutely” take Evans’ place, who earlier this month resigned from the show, but admitted to knowing “fuck all about cars”.

“I can drive but that’s about it,” added Ryder. “I would have to rely on someone to throw the script at me and just say ‘go!'” Watch this space.
