Mike Oldfield’s prog classic gets the dancefloor treatment.

Levon Vincent has announced his latest techno 12″ and this time it features something out of the ordinary: a cover of the Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells.

Originally released on Virgin in 1973, the prog classic sold millions in the UK at the time, but remains most famous for providing The Exorcist with its main theme. Perhaps not the most obvious choice for a Berghain banger, but if anyone can make it work, it’s Levon Vincent.

As Juno Plus reports, the record which arrives on Vincent’s Novel Sound label on August 22. It also comes with a more conventional Vincent track called ‘Birds’, which should satisfy any techno fan’s acid cravings. Hear clips and pre-order at Phonica.

Last year Vincent released his self-titled debut album, which landed in our list of the 50 best albums of 2015.
