More money trouble for the Cash Money label head.

According to TMZ, Birdman is being sued for $3.3M by the songwriters of obscure samples on Lil Wayne tracks ‘You’ and ‘Certified’, although the item does not specify what the samples are or who has filed the lawsuit.

Birdman continues to have his hands tied up in legal disputes over rights to music. Last year, he reportedly sued Tidal for $50M for illegally streaming Lil Wayne’s FWA album, claiming it infringed upon Cash Money’s rights to Wayne’s music. (Wayne and Nicki Minaj, who is, of course, signed to Wayne’s Cash Money imprint Young Money, are both stakeholders in Tidal.)

Birdman and Wayne are still in progress with Wayne’s $51M lawsuit against Cash Money for failing to release Tha Carter V.

Over the weekend, Apple Music announced they would be producing a documentary about the New Orleans label’s origin story called The Cash Money Story: Before Anythang. Watch the trailer below.
