The rapper has been loyal to the streaming platform since it launched last year.

Drake’s Views is the first album to hit one billion streams on Apple Music.

The Canadian artist announced the news on Instagram with a pair of pictures – one displaying the giant plaque as awarded by Apple for his win. Views dropped in April as an Apple Music and iTunes exclusive, getting certified triple platinum by the RIAA in August, before notching up over a billion total streams.

Apple and Drake have been working together since Apple Music launched last year, with Drake heading up a Beats 1 radio show and Apple sponsoring Drake’s recent Summer Sixteen tour.

Earlier this week, the ‘Hotline Bling’ artist unveiled his 23-minute action-style film Please Forgive Me – an Apple Music exclusive which, as The Verge reports, was released as a kind of thank-you to the tech giant.
