The composer says watching Trump’s performance reminded him of a zombie movie.
During the second US Presidential debate last week, many criticized Donald Trump’s physical behavior, describing him as “looming” and “stalking” behind Hillary Clinton on multiple occasions. Danny Elfman, a film composer beloved for his spooky scores, watched and got a brilliant idea.
Elfman has partnered with Funny Or Die to compose a horror movie score to footage of the debate. With drained color and Elfman’s iconic sound, it makes a funny exaggeration of something many felt genuinely uncomfortable witnessing.
“Watching Trump lurching behind Hillary during the debate felt a bit like a zombie movie, like at any moment he was going to attack her, rip off her head, and eat her brains,” Elfman said, but like any good composer he’s only enhancing what Trump delivered all on his own.
As far as scary music this political season goes, however, this doesn’t have a damn thing on Freedom Girls.
