One of the year’s finest albums is coming out on wax.
Solange’s third album A Seat At The Table will see a vinyl release on December 9, as listed on Amazon.
The follow-up to 2012’s True EP features guest spots from Lil Wayne, Kelela, Kelly Rowland, Q-Tip, Tweet, The-Dream and Dev Hynes, plus interludes from No Limit Records boss Master P and her mother, Tina Knowles.
“‘True’ was meant to provoke joy and to challenge what we know as pop,” Solange tweeted on the eve of the album’s release. A Seat At The Table is meant “to provoke healing and a journey of self empowerment,” she added.
The digital release was accompanied by a 112-page digital book; hopefully the 2xLP edition will come with a hard copy.
After the release of the album in September, the singer shared a behind-the-scenes video looking at “the early days of Solange’s songwriting, jam sessions, experimentation, collaboration, and the exploring of sounds and ideas for the album,” with footage filmed in Long Island, New Orleans, and New Iberia.
