Panthers and sports cars.

The Weeknd has revealed that he working on a “visual piece” called Mania and has offered a glimpse of it via a dark and gothic trailer.

Soundtracked by the kind of urgent synths that go hand-in-hand with eerie cinema fare, the teaser flicks through a series of nocturnal scenes, from a neon-lit dancefloor to a shadowy back room rendezvous and also features a big cat and futuristic-looking sports car, as seen in the ‘Starboy’ video.

No details are known yet about the film, except that it was directed Grant Singer, who has worked with The Weeknd on a number of his videos, including ‘Starboy’, ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ and ‘The Hills’. ‘Mania’ will follow previous music videos for ‘Starboy’ and the ultra-violent ‘False Alarm.’

The Weeknd’s new album Starboy is due to drop this Friday (November 25) and the Canadian artist recently unveiled the full tracklist, which features guest appearances from Lana Del Rey, Daft Punk, Future and Kendrick Lamar.
