Kendrick, Daft Punk, Future and Lana Del Rey all make guest contributions.

The Weeknd‘s new album has arrived, which was named in honour of David Bowie and features the smash hit title track ‘Starboy’.

The 18-track album contains a raft of A-star guests, with Lana Del Rey lending her vocal talents to a gauzy guitar-driven song called ‘Stargirl Interlude’ and Kendrick Lamar coming in with an impressive quickfire verse on ‘Sidewalks’. Cashmere Cat produced four tracks on the album.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal earlier this month, the Canadian artist noted that Starboy was “a thousand percent” influenced by the deaths of David Bowie and Prince. In the same interview, The Weeknd (né Abel Tesfaye) revealed that he was due to record with Prince at his Paisley Park studio in Minnesota before his death in April.

On Wednesday (November 23), Tesfaye released his short film Mania, which was directed by regular collaborator Grant Singer. It features previews of the songs from the new album, including ‘Party Monster’.

Starboy is the Weeknd’s fourth album and the follow-up to Beauty Behind The Madness, which spawned smash hits ‘The Hills’ and ‘Can’t Feel My Face.’
