Four separate “narco blankets” appeared around the city on Tuesday morning.

Mexico’s Zetas cartel has claimed responsibility for the shooting at the Blue Parrot nightclub during the BPM Festival in Playa del Carmen on Monday (January 16) that left five people dead.

On Tuesday morning, four “narco blankets” were hung up around the city, displaying the same message in spray paint that appear to be targeted at Phillip Pulitano, the festival’s Canadian co-founder. As Billboard reports, Quintana Roo’s attorney general, Miguel Angel Pech, is currently investigating this claim.

“This is a sign that we are already here because you didn’t align Phillip BPM. It is the beginning, we are going to cut the heads of Golfos, Pelones and Chapulines. Sincerely el Fayo Z from the old school,” translates the message.

According to local publication Semanario Playa News, which first reported the news of the narco blankets, Fayo Z is the nickname of Rafael del Angel Velez Morales, leader of the Zetas cartel, operating in the northern part of Quintana Roo.

The Zetas cartel, also known as Los Zetas, is considered by the US government to be one of the most dangerous, violent and advanced cartels operating within Mexico.

Playa del Carmen is a popular tourist destination and has been relatively free of cartel-related violence following an agreed upon pact between the Cartel del Golfo and Los Pelones cartels.

Playa Del Carmen’s mayor has already canceled all electronic music festivals in the city following the shooting.

A lone gunman opened fire at the Blue Parrot in the early morning hours of January 16, resulting in the deaths of two security workers, several patrons and one woman, who was crushed in the stampede to escape the venue. Rodolfo Del Angel, police director in Quintana Roo state, told the Milenio TV station shortly after the shootings that they were the result of “a disagreement between people inside” the club.
