Another taste of the upcoming Drunk.

Thundercat will release his new album this month and just in time for Valentine’s Day he’s dropped the decidedly unromantic ‘Friend Zone’.

The bassist takes lead vocals on the track making a vicious parody of the “nice guy” trope while name-dropping a handful of classic video games including Diablo, Portal and Mortal Kombat. At one point he makes a nod to Kendrick Lamar murmuring ‘bitch don’t kill my vibe’

Thundercat has teased several tracks from Drunk so far, including the yacht-rock godsend ‘Show You The Way’ featuring Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald.
