Pharrell described the LP as “something gargoyle-ish.”
Pusha T dropped into Pharrell Williams and Scott Vener‘s OTHERtone show on Beats 1 Radio last night (April 2) to discuss his new album.
The G.O.O.D Music president revealed that is he currently working on King Push – the follow-up to 2015’s King Push – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude. “I just left Pharrell yesterday, so I’m just waiting on him to give me these last couple heat rocks,” he said. Pusha also revealed that he listened to the album with Desiigner when the two were in the studio together recently.
Pharrell added that the album is “definitely crazy,” while also describing it as “something gargoyle-ish.”
During the show, which also featured fellow Virginia artists Fam-Lay and D.R.A.M., Pusha T discussed his contribution to Hillary Clinton’s campaign trail last year. “I spent all of 2016 trying to free my people, and we took the L on that with the Hillary campaign, it’s cool,” he offered. “But it’s rap time, and that’s what it is. No haircut. No face cut. No nothing. It’s just what we’re doing.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Pharrell praised the former Clipse member. “He uses all those words to make the colors that Lex Luger does beat-wise,” he said. “That’s fascinating to me that, where I come from, there are people walking around with those kind of thoughts every day.”
No release date for the album has been confirmed as yet.
