UR co-founder Mike Banks played guitar for P-Funk in the ‘80s.
Underground Resistance have remixed Funkadelic’s 1969 track ‘Music For My Mother’ as part of a new compilation album.
The remix is described in the press release as “the perfect marriage of the down-home funk of the 1969 original with an almost ‘Atomic Dog’-era clap and the tough funk of UR. It literally sounds like a hundred years of great American music.” Listen to it below.
‘Music 4 My Mother’ is featured on forthcoming LP Funkadelic – Reworked by Detroiters, which also includes remixes from Moodymann, Marcellus Pittman and more. The compilation is out October 27. For the tracklist and more info, visit the Ace Records site.
