Havoc says the offending tweets came from a lost phone.

According to Havoc, as told to Allhiphop, the onslaught of belligerent tweets last night from his Twitter account directed at his Mobb Deep groupmate Prodigy – prompting speculation that the hip-hop veterans had broken up – came from someone who found his misplaced phone. The tirade led to speculation that the venerable New York rap duo had broken up.

“Just getting back into NY after my Easter weekend with family and friends in Jersey,” Havoc explained. “I left my phone at a gas station yesterday evening while on my way to Jersey after a glorious Knick’s game.”

The duo got their start in 1993, releasing the album Juvenile Hell before rocketing to success on the back of 1995’s The Infamous, featuring the hiphop classics ‘Shook Ones, Pt. 2’ and ‘Survival of the Fittest’.

Havoc also reassured Mobb Deep’s fans that he and Prodigy had not split. “To all Mobb Deep fans: it’s business as usual. It’s Mobb Deep all day!!! My twitter account @THEREALHAVOC will be down until further notice. The only other real account is @PRODIGYMOBBDEEP. Ignore the rest. One!”
