Jesus and Mary Chain to reissue Psychocandy for Record Store Day

The Scottish band will re-release their proto-shoegaze debut.

The Jesus and Mary Chain’s 1985 debut Psychocandy will be reissued on a “paint splatter” vinyl edition for Record Store Day. The edition will be limited to 1,000 copies and bundled with an A3 reproduction of an early gig poster, available only at indie record shops on April 20. As Spin notes, it is unclear if this is a UK exclusive or not. Take a look at the art below, and check out the video for the seminal ‘Just Like Honey’.

A victim of its own success, Record Store Day will be scaled back this year, as stores are unable to cope with the increased day of demand. However, that hasn’t stopped the likes of RSD Ambassador Jack White, David Bowie, and Death Waltz (among others) from offering special editions this year.
