The pair urge people to support the ‘Enough Is Enough’ bill.

Today Lady Gaga teamed with Governor Andrew Cuomo to co-write a new op-ed for Billboard on sexual assault on college campuses. The article is in support of a comprehensive and uniform sexual assault policy for the state’s public colleges and the Enough Is Enough campaign.

“Today, too many college students experience sexual assault, too few of the assailants are prosecuted, and too often the survivors lack the resources they need to recover,” they write.

The pair noted the history of some schools mishandling cases of sexual assault in attempts to avoid negative publicity and call for support towards the new bill’s intended goal to unify the policies in public colleges.

“The bill currently before the New York State legislature will address the issue of sexual violence on college campuses, giving the state the nation’s strongest laws to target campus sexual assault. This is a campaign that will protect students, and it’s exactly what we need,” they said.
