Last year, Deantoni Parks debuted on Leaving Records with Technoself, an album of compositions recorded with one drum stick, one sampler, and no overdubs.

Over the years, the Georgia native has collaborated with Flying Lotus, The Mars Volta, and Run The Jewels, but his debut album was all about highlighting a creative process he holds dear.

In a new short film directed by Adam Thompson, Parks shares some more thoughts on the album, its reflection of the present moment, and how it was tested in front of trap-loving audiences in Atlanta.
