Ableton’s Link technology is now available to everyone.

Ableton has released version 9.6 of its Live software, which comes with a number of bugfixes, changes for the Push controller and more.

The biggest new feature in Live 9.6 is the addition of Link, the new Ableton technology that allows different Live users on the same wireless network to play together in time.

Link was previously available to users of the Live 9.6 beta and in selected iOS apps, but 9.6 brings the technology to all owners of Live 9 as part of a free update.

The features for Ableton’s new Push controller include improved responsiveness and changes in the way the device’s colour screen displays certain information.

If you don’t own a Push, Live 9.6 adds control surface support for a number of other devices, including Alesis VX controllers and Arturia’s Keylab series, as well as its BeatStep and MiniLab units.
