French disco luminary Cerrone has taken a new direction on his forthcoming EP, Afro, out February 12 on Because Music.

The clue’s in the name: it’s a record in thrall to Afrobeat. Cerrone has joined forces with erstwhile Fela Kuti drummer Tony Allen (who played with Fela during his formative years) and Cameroonian saxophonist Manu Dibango, for what he describes as “a passionate tribute to Africa.”

It’s also been remixed by Todd Edwards.
