The originator is repressing several sought-after records.

Juan Atkins is reissuing a selection of classic records from his Metroplex label.

As RA reports, the Detroit techno pioneer will start the campaign with reissues of three records from his Model 500 alias: Night DriveSound Of Stereo and The ChaseAccording to a post on Facebook, the campaign is the “first back catalogue repress” of the label’s releases, which was launched by Atkins in 1985.

Atkins’ post also mentions a few other reissues arriving in the future, including Spectral Nomad, a 1996 record from Robert Hood’s The Vision alias, and records from Atkins’ Infiniti moniker. Green Velvet and Luciano have also been picked by Atkins to remix Model 500’s classic ‘No UFOs’.

The first reissues land in April, spread across vinyl, CD and digital formats. The campaign follows a busy period of new music from Atkins: in 2015 he released the first album of Model 500 material in 16 years, and he has a second album of Borderland material with Moritz von Oswald arriving next month.
