The singer was set to perform ‘Might Not’ with Canadian-based rapper Belly.

The Weeknd’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! performance was cancelled last night (May 25) because Donald Trump was also set to appear on the episode, ABC News reports.

The Beauty Behind the Madness artist was scheduled to perform the collaborative single ‘Might Not’ with Palestinian-Canadian rapper Belly but Belly decided to pull out last minute, refusing to share the stage with Trump.

In a statement to Associated Press, Belly – who also co-wrote Beyonce’s ‘6 Inch,’ which features vocals from The Weeknd and appears on her Lemonade album – explained that he didn’t want to feel like he was “part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that the majority of us don’t agree with.”

Meanwhile, The Weeknd revealed earlier this month that he has reunited with his House of Balloons producers and is already working on new music, the follow-up to last year’s critically acclaimed album Beauty Behind the Madness.
