Killer Mike says that a “darker, harder, meaner, angrier” third album from Run The Jewels will be out this year.

Talking to HipHopWired.com, the Atlanta rapper explained that he had had been “smoking weed, eating shrooms and watching Big Trouble In Little China everyday” during the making of the record.

“You know what we’re doing, we’re going zany. We’re going dark. I think we have some stuff that will touch your soul,” he adds, revealing that the album will also feature a big guest star. Mike says he would like to have it all wrapped up by July 7.

Last month, RTJ co-founder El-P teased the duo’s highly-anticipated third album on Instagram with a clip of a new song.

RTJ3 is the follow-up to 2014’2 critically acclaimed album RTJ2 the sound of two 39-year-old men having the best mid-life crisis ever.
