The soundtrack features unreleased music from Chromatics and Symmetry.

Chromatics producer Johnny Jewel has written the score for Belgian film Home, which premieres at the Venice International Film Festival in Spetember.

Jewel’s soundtrack for the Fien Troch-directed film features unreleased music from Italians Do It Better regulars Chromatics and Symmetry, including a new version of ‘The Magician’, which featured on 2013’s After Dark 2 compilation.

The Home soundtrack follows Jewel’s well-received score for Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut Lost River.

The original version of ‘The Magician’ was performed by Mike Simonetti, but the version on Home is a new version recorded by Jewel and Desire bandmate Nat Walker as part of their Symmetry project.

Simonetti yesterday claimed in a series of tweets that Jewel had stolen the song from him, before later clarifying: “The issue is re-recording it slightly differently and pawning it as his.”

The Home soundtrack will be released on Italians Do It Better along with the film’s theatrical release. Still no news on when we can expect Chromatics’ long-awaited Dear Tommy album, which was due to land in 2015.
