Who will Kanye West make famous this year?

Ah yes, it is that time of the year again: When MTV celebrate the format that launched their station 25 years ago only to be replaced by Catfish and Teen Mom, the music video. At this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, the network will hand out the iconic Moonman to some things you watched on YouTube (or HBO, as Beyoncé’s Lemonade has 11 nods) and give a lifetime achievement award to Rihanna who deserves it for ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ alone.

We’ll also ask the question, Is a music awards even valid when Taylor Swift isn’t nominated? Let’s find out tonight (August 28) during the MTV Video Music Awards. Expect the usual tonight (weird outfits, worse jokes) except that Kanye West has been given free reign of the stage for four whole minutes. Will the ‘Famous’ fracas come full circle?

Follow us on Twitter (@FACTmag), where our very own Miles Bowe will be live-tweeting all the good parts. We’ll also be live-updating the winners of the televised presentation right here! See all the nominees and the winners, as they’re announced, below.
