The Atlanta rapper was killed in a car accident on Tuesday (September 20).

Shawty Lo’s team have shared his final video, ‘Put Some Respek On It’.

The Picture Perfect-directed video samples Birdman’s now infamous quote from his Breakfast Club rant earlier this year and is taken from Lo’s 2016 Built Not Bought mixtape.

Shawty Lo was killed in a car accident when his Audi crashed and caught fire on an Atlanta highway on Tuesday. Born Carlos Walker, he was a founding member of the quartet D4L who achieved a #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 with ‘Laffy Taffy’ in 2006, dethroning Mariah Carey’s ‘Don’t Forget About Us.’  ‘Laffy Taffy’ also went on to break the 2007 Guinness World Record for most downloaded song in the history of music. Shawty Lo’s other best known hit was released in 2007 – the Lil Wayne featuring ‘Dey Know’.

Gucci Mane, Metro Boomin, Future and many more artists have paid tribute to the Bankhead rapper. See a selection of their tributes below.
