‘One Dance’ is the streaming platform’s biggest song of the year (and all-time).

For the second year in a row, Drake is Spotify’s most streamed artist of 2016, notching up 4.7 billion streams, which he achieved despite his album Views being withheld from the streaming platform for two weeks as part of an exclusive deal with Apple Music.

The Canadian artist had already been crowned Spotify’s most streamed artist ever back in May, overtaking Justin Bieber and in October, ‘One Dance’ was declared the most streamed song in the history of the platform.

This year, the Views artist maintained a Herculean grip on the site with the smash hit – that alone was streamed 960 million times. The song also spent 15 weeks at the top of the UK singles chart – the longest run to date – overtaking previous record holder and fellow Canadian Bryan Adams with his 1991 track ‘Everything I Do (I Do It For You).’

Rihanna is Spotify’s most-streamed female artist of 2016, while former One Direction star Zayn Malik was the biggest new act of the year. See the full top lists via Spotify.
