The BBC has rarely sounded so heavy.

Stephen O’Malley of doom metal sorcerers Sunn 0))) and experimental imprint Ideologic Organ was on BBC 6 Music on Sunday for two solid hours of ear-bending, face-melting selections.

Sitting in for Stuart Maconie on the Freak Zone, O’Malley kicked off with Southern Lord labelmates Goatsnake before selecting music by FACT favourite Circuit Des Yeux, Magma, Charlemagne Palestine and Annette Peacock, as well as a track from Sunn 0)))’s forthcoming album, Kannon.
