Lady Gaga is set to replace Beyoncé as the Saturday night headliner at next month’s Coachella festival.

Gaga – who recently performed with Metallica at the Grammys – will be flanked by Friday night headliner Radiohead and Sunday night headliner Kendrick Lamar at the party in the desert.

Beyoncé pulled out of the gig last month following the advice of her doctors over the potential pregnancy-related health risks that she could take on performing in April. She will headline the festival in 2018.

In January, the head of the company behind Coachella, Philip Anschutz, was exposed as a major financial supporter of anti-LGBTQ organisations and groups denying climate change science. He later came forward to deny the claims.
